I was in the Treble Makers (now Treblemakers) back in the day when we recorded this song- it was a favorite of mine. Glad you liked it! BTW- we totally sounded that way live- to get onto BOCA we had to submit the same song live, so if we didn’t sound like that, it would never have made it! :)

Wow way to bring it back boys. I fondly remember recording “Walking on Broken Glass” not to mention singing it live 100 times. Good times, Good times.

    Hi Guys -

Thanks so much for the shout out. It’s hard to believe we recorded that song BEFORE you were even born. It was definitely a special time as I was fortunate to have a very low turnover while directing that era of Treble Makers. They were the best and appreciate the compliments years later and from a far. It also has made me rediscover the “scene” and see the evolution of collegiate a cappella from when we started. Great show!

    All the best!

Wow! I am totally blushing! Thanks for making my day guys! Loved singing that song and being a Treble Maker. I always felt that the song naturally lead into the dynamics and we all sang from the heart! So glad to hear someone other than our parents were listening!!! Actually, we all were VERY proud to be selected onto the BOCA CD for that song. We worked hard and were so happy to be recognized. I would like to think that we sang that song pretty much the same live as in the studio. And if I remember correctly the lead track was done in one recording. We had performed it so many times it did not need any rehearsing.

As I hear the current UM Treblemakers it amazes me how the Trebs have evolved. I was not there in the very beginning but close to it, my years were Fall 92-Fall 96. I remember singing some of the earlier songs like Amoeba Man and Breaths. Percussion was just starting to come into play towards the end of my journey so hearing what they are doing today sounds so much different than what we did but that is what is so great about all music.

Thanks for taking me back to some great memories and thanks for all the wonderful compliments! We were an amazing group of very talented girls and I will always be very proud to have been a Univeristy of Maryland Treble Maker!!

CD, if you ever need to fire DB again (or even if he loses his voice for 3 weeks again) and get a new cohost, give me a shout. Pretty sure I fit all the qualifications you -both- listed…

Barbershoppers have a particular sense of humor, don’t they? I’m reminded of Hi Fidelity, especially their Blackbird Parody on ‘Almost Live!’, which I played way back on my show #8.

(And the Treblemakers track has been on my ‘Introduce people to A Cappella’ playlist since it came out, I swear.)
