Mouth Off 08.08.10
Happy birthday, Christopher!
Listen to the show right here:
Classical Corner Christopher goes on and on about the Swingle Singers and their beautiful takes on Brahms’s “Hungarian Dance No. 5″ and Rossini’s William Tell overture.
In the Basement J.D. Sumner is literally a record-setting bass. You’ve never heard anything this low. Unless you’re Christopher.
In Your Earbuds Christopher loves new(ISH) tracks from Broken Social Scene, Janelle Monáe, Grizzly Bear, and Chris Thile.
Album Review Naturally 7‘s new album Vocal Play (available aaaalmost worldwide) is super radio ready, pushing all definitions of a cappella out the window. Dave worships the record, while Christopher laments the loss of albums.

That entire Sumner bass solo is absolutely ludicrous, but when he dropped to that low low C, I’ll admit I may have peed a little.
You should check out Tim Storms. He holds the Guinness book record for the lowest note ever produced by a human and the widest range for a male singer. And he’s a really nice guy.
Can anyone tell me where the clips are from that they played in between the segments? I can’t think of the name!
Loz: Good thing you had those diapers.
Janelle: We’ll have to check him out!
Allison: The drop-ins are from the dinner scene in The Break-Up.
Thanks for listening!
