This is Not an Instrument Christopher loves CLUUUSSSTTTEEERRRR‘s version of “Mi Sono Innamorato de Te.” Seriously, this is not a saxophone.Head 2 Head Dave compares muchas versiones of the Beatles classic “Got to Get You into My Life.” The King’s Singers, Calmus Ensemble, Talk 2 The Hand, Overboard, Earth Wind & Fire, Cosmos, and firedrill! each give their unique take.
Monster Mash Yannick Morgan and the UGA Accidentals somehow manage a thoughtful interpolation of N*Sync’s “Gone” into Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
Did You Know? Back by popular demand, Catherine Lewis shares the tainted history behind “Tainted Love.” [PandmoniUM here]
Album Review Dave & Christopher both declare their undying Valentine’s love for Club For Five‘s CARA-nominated album You’re the Voice.

I’m ORDERING this album. Yes ma’am PAM Christopher & Dave!!
I would not know any of this without you. Thank you. Thank you.
You’re secret lover, and not so secret lover,
Me.
Catherine, can you just talk at me about music for the next forever? Thanks.
Aaaand I have to post again. Club for Five. You’ve killed me. I will never even try to sing low notes again.
Yes, Alex, of course!!!
I think I have a whole DVD extra commentary track for this show.. here goes:
Not An Instrument – Have you guys heard Hugh Laurie’s mouth trumpet? Before he was Dr. Sherlock… er, Dr. House, Mr. Laurie was in a sketch show called ‘A Bit of Fry & Laurie’, and in seasons 3 and 4, he’d close out the show playing paino and mouth trumpet! Pretty good stuff! The best clip I could find on YouTube, sadly, is the only clip I could find on YouTube – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jACBMxKQfXM But if you can, spend a little Netflix love watching the 3rd Season.
Head2Head – Dave, I didn’t read the shownotes before listening to the episode, so I’m listening to this segment, and getting ready to turn the car around and drive down and kill somebody if you didn’t play Firedrill!. Fortunately, you saved the best for last, and murder was averted.
Monster Mash – Christopher – I know it may run afound of your ‘why these two songs?’ perspective, but I still think you should do a segment on the Clocks/Chicago mashup by the Dicks and Janes off their latest album. Unlike many mashups, they don’t just put a small piece of one song into another, they practically overlap the two songs the whole time.
Did You Know – Love it or hate it, Tainted Love is a fun song that will forever be played at 80′s dance nights and goth clubs. And I love Catherine’s article. Smart is sexy, and Catherine sounds pretty sexy to me…
Club for Five -YES, OMFGBBQWTF YES. I’ve already got the album playing in my ears. Then again, anyone who does such an awesome version of Sweet Dreams can’t go wrong by me. (See above 80′s dance club comment.)
And guests are cool, but can’t replace your sparkling conversation (which at times comes across almost like sibling rivalry). That said, if you have a segment that needs a guest, I have no doubt you will find more fabulous guests….
Great show, as usual! FYI, peeps in the uk can download the Club for Five album from amazon.co.uk for 7.99 (pounds). Instant gratification and cheap!

Dave and Christopher, you are a little ray of sunshine in an unusually long and cold Danish winter. Thank you for a great show. You make me fell almost normal with my obsession for a cappella music in a non aca nation.
And thank you for the review of Club For Five. I couldn’t even wait until the end of the review. Half way through I went to iTunes and bought it! And it is everything you said it would be.
