In Your Earbuds Catchy hits are flowing into Dave’s ears from all directions.  The Model Cars are jumpin’, and Maykish nailed it with Amanda Jenssen.

Head2Head Christopher pits University of Maryland PandemoniUM against Stanford Testimony in a best-of battle for Sia’s “Breathe Me.”  Pandemonium got the 2009 BOCA nod for this track, but Testimony really converted Christopher.

This is Not an Instrument Cadence‘s jazz knows no limits.  Dave is thrilled by their vocal marimbas on Beady Belle’s “Game.”

Song Suggestion Christopher dares someone to tackle “The Gash” by the Flaming Lips. It’s a real doozy, but a killer studio aca version could be legendary.

Album Review Reigning ICCA Mid-Atlantic champs Ithacappella‘s latest release Breakdown offers the boys much food for thought.  As usual, Dave and Christopher disagree on much of the album, but the closing track “Down to Earth” wins them both over.

Didn’t find any a cappella from Svalbard. :)

That’s really touching and kind of sad about Nate and his parents. It’s great that they are so supportive. He’s got a really great voice – makes me wish I could sing well!

Thanks for the AcaBelles Finals shout out! :) Oh and the Testimony version makes me cry, so I agree with you Chris.

Heh, I think I got more feedback after playing Stanford Testimony’s “Breath Me” than almost any other song I’ve played on the show.

As for Cadence – I know, when are they going to release another album, right? Unfortunately, they’ve been having some member changes, and have been focusing on touring and other projects lately. But maybe the next album will actually win a Juno and not just a nomination. That would be a big kudo for a cappella.
